Speaking of China’s Feng Shui geography, in addition to the theory on shapes, many people will also focus on China’s mountains and rivers. On mountains: very often the first comes to mind is the world’s highest peaks of the Himalayas. On water: Definitely to mention the Yangtze River and the Yellow River, which are the two arteries. This kind of opinion is probably OK for the discussion on water, but on mountains, the author believes that the criterion is not the height, otherwise, principle mistakes could be easily made.
In fact, the land of China
which gave birth to thousands of years of Chinese history, has the Kunlun Mountains in northwestern as China’s ancestral mountain, the Himalayas mountains are just its southern branches. In Feng Shui theory, the major mountains branching out from the ancestral mountain is called the Dragon range, which carry strong Qi of land. The Kunlun Mountains extend three main Dragon ranges toward southeast: the south Dragon range pass around Sichuan, goes through Yunnan, Guizhou, Hunan, and Fujian then into the sea; the middle Dragon range stretches in southern Shaanxi Qinling Mountains, goes into Guanzhong via MinShan, enter into Henan, from west to east then arrives at Huaisi into the sea; And the north dragon range starts from the Yinshan mountain in the Inner Mongolia, enters Shanxi, through Taiyuan, passes through the Yanshan Mountains, and the Changbai Mountains, then ends across the sea. Every big Dragon range can be either one of branch dragon, dry dragon, real dragon, fake dragon, hidden dragon, flying dragon, etc. And the low points between the above three great Dragon range winding from west to east, are the Yangtze River and the Yellow River, carrying thousands of years of Chinese culture. If the mountains are earth dragons, then the Yangtze River and the Yellow River are the water dragons.
From Feng Shui’s point of view: mountains and rivers are all carriers of Qi, the longer the mountain range, the stronger Qi of land it is bearing, bury your ancestors where the dragon range settles, could give you a prosper dynasty for generations. For example, the Yanshan Mountains of the north dragon carries centuries of glories of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Then of course, a burial site at a dragon range settle point can not be used repeatedly, it is more about opportunities and the capabilities of the individuals. Since the late Qing Dynasty, the main dragons have all been awakened, so there is no imperial heritage. As for branch dragon, most earth ranges are limited, even there is good burial site, apply an old saying: rich for three generations only. The beneficial is limited.
